About Great Vespers

In the Eastern Orthodox Church, Great Vespers is a more solemn and expanded form of Vespers, the evening prayer service that marks the beginning of the liturgical day.
In Orthodox tradition, the new church day starts at sunset, so Great Vespers is often the first major service for a Sunday or feast day.
