Archbishop Alexander Visit

Our diocesan bishop, Archbishop Alexander will be visiting our parish on the weekend of January 20-21, 2024. Details regarding his visit will be coming later this Fall.
Fall Community Meal — German Octoberfest Luncheon

Our next Community meal will be a German themed Octoberfest luncheon. Please come and enjoy some wonderful food and fellowship. There are 9 spots available. **We ask that those who have not yet had a chance to attend a Community meal sign up first and then we will open it up to everyone else. This will allow others a chance to attend.** \ MENU --OCTOBERFEST Saurbraten ---beef roast cooked in sour cream sauce Spaetzle ---German style noodles Braised Red Cabbage with onions Rolls and butter Various German Beers and Wines Chocolate Cake These meals are a great way to share fellowship and enjoy some good food can company in a relaxed atmosphere.
Church-Family Fun Day: Paintball

Come join us on Saturday, Sept. 30th at 9 a.m. for some fun and fellowship playing paintball! We'll provide both the paintball experience and lunch at no expense for our young people aged 10-18 years from the church youth fund. We've selected Boss Paintball, a fully equipped and professionally staffed paintball field in Locust, NC for this outing.
Back to School Backpack Project

Our next outreach project will be our annual Back to School Backpack project. Our parish will purchase and donate all the backpacks and we ask that parishioners donate various school supplies. Pens and pencils Paper --colored and lined Crayons and markers Rulers Scissors etc... We will bless the backpack and supplies on Sunday Aug. 20, and they will be distributed to the local school system.
Charlotte Rescue Mission July Needs

The Rescue Mission invited us to donate various types of men's toiletries for the month of July. In May Jeff said that they now are at full capacity with over 100 men who reside at the Mission. They are in need of the following items Soap Shampoo Toothpaste and toothbrushes Shaving cream, razors Brushes and combs Please bring these items to the back of the Church by July 30, thank you! May we always strive to serve both God and neighbor!

Our next Community Meal sponsored by the Community of Calling Program will be a Middle Eastern Feast. These meals are to help foster community and connection in our parish family. There is no teaching, planning, or prep work, just come hungry and ready to share fellowship with one another. No need to bring anything, just bring your appetite! A sign up sheet will be in the coffee area, please do not sign up if you already participated in a meal in order to allow for others to enjoy a gathering. **MENU** Spinach pie Grape leaves Hummus with Pita Shishtaook (chicken cooked in a tangy yogurt sauce) Hashwe (rice with onions and lamb) Baklava and Middle Eastern Sweets Wine/Beer/Soda/Water
Parish Celebration - Honoring our High School Graduates and Stephen Ministry Commissioning

On Sunday June 11, we will honor our two High School grads Ian Reeves and Danielle Kallaur. We will also have additional prayers for our new Stephen Ministry members Betty, Billie, Nate, and Pedro who will be commissioned as official Stephen Ministers. May God grant Ian, Danielle, Billie, Betty, Nate, and Pedro many years!

Make sure the coffee pot is on before Liturgy. There will be printed directions for making coffee. Also, please make sure the coffee pot is cleaned serving area is wiped and the trash is picked up and taken for disposal. Also, please make sure the oven is turned off.

Called to Care - Feeding Our Neighbors

Bringing canned goods to our Loaves and Fishes bins is one small but very important way to care for our needy neighbors.
There are many people who will go to bed hungry tonight.
Next time you go shopping buy a few extra cans or boxed items for our food ministry.
