Called to Care----Feeding Our Neighbors

Bringing canned goods to our Loaves and Fishes bins is one small but very important way to care for our needy neighbors.

There are many people who will go to bed hungry tonight.

Next time you go shopping buy a few extra cans or boxed items for our food ministry.

If you have a conflict, you’re welcome to switch with someone scheduled for another Sunday.

Make sure the coffee pot is on before Liturgy. There will be printed directions for making coffee. Also, please make sure the coffee pot is cleaned serving area is wiped and the trash is picked up and taken for disposal. Also, please make sure the oven is turned off.

As You were voluntarily raised upon the cross for our sake, / grant mercy to those who are called by Your Name, O Christ God; / make all Orthodox Christians glad by Your power, / granting them victories over their adversaries, / by bestowing on them the Invincible trophy, Your weapon of Peace.

Special Sabbath retreat

Lake Norman State Park ---rain or shine

Troutman, NC 28166

9:30-1pm

The day will include a short presentation and discussion, time for fellowship as well as time to explore the park by yourself or with others.

We will explore what it means to live into Sabbath rest.

The day includes all materials, lunch, snacks, and drinks.

There will be activities for the kids as well.

Come and join us for this day of rest, renewal, and connection as we learn more about the importance of Sabbath as our vocation!

3. Special prayers and blessing for Church school teachers and students and beginning of Church school year.

We certainly have a lot of reasons to be thankful!

New Treasurer and Data Entry Person

After much prayer, discernment, and conversation John Daniels has agreed to serve as our next parish treasurer and Lyudmila has agreed to serve as our data entry person. After some discernment, we decided to divide the financial labor to make the job easier.

We are so grateful for John and Lyudmila as they follow their callings!

May we all follow our vocation each and every day!


Good News from Fr. Bill ----Online Platform for Bible Recordings Found

I wanted to share some good news that The Orthodox Center for the Advancement of Biblical Studies (OCABS) has agreed to host our Bible video recordings on their website. This will be a great opportunity for others to learn about Scripture. The transition will take place in the next few months. Details will be forthcoming later.

The current catalog of recordings includes:

I am currently doing recordings on 1-2 Samuel and 1-2 Kings which will be ready at the end of 2022 and early 2023.
